Well here we are, halfway though another season. People keep saying to me "it's about time you gave up". No Never. I’m one of those blokes you see in most Sunday League teams, bit balding, bit of a belly, shirt a tad tight, sleeves too short and legs like well chewed bones.
This season I’ve done some radical buying, I’ve bought a pair of Nike Football Boots and Adidas Trainers. Nothing big about that you say, but having spent a mini-fortune on football gear in my time and ruined most of it through lack of care, I’m going to care now!
Whether you buy cheap football boots or opt for the best football boots, the following are simple tips for caring for your boots to give them a longer life, more comfortable to wear and save you money:-
Knock off the loose mud after a match and wipe the rest of the boot clean with a damp cloth.
Allow your boots to dry, The best way of drying football boots is to stuff them with paper and allow them to dry naturally. Putting them by a heater can cause the leather uppers to become hard, making them less comfortable next time you wear them and more likely to crack.
Once your boots are dry you can bring them back to their best by giving them a good polish so the natural oils can be replaced by polish, Dubbin or oil.
Enjoy your game and remember, it’s OnlyFooball!
